Terms of Service

The deal, in plain English.

Who we are

Release Forge is a tool for independent artists to plan and ship music releases. "We" is the team operating releaseforge.io. Contact us at hello@releaseforge.io.

Your account

You need an account to use the app. Keep your login details safe. You're responsible for what happens under your account. You must be 16 or older, and you promise the info you enter (name, PRO details, splits) is accurate.

Your music, your rights

You keep 100% ownership of everything you upload: audio, artwork, lyrics, splits, metadata. We just store it and help you push it around. We only access your files to run the service (backups, generating PDFs, delivering to distributors you connect).

What we do

We help you organise releases, pre-fill distributor forms, generate split sheets and rights agreements, and coordinate with collaborators. We're a workflow tool, not a distributor or PRO. We don't publish your music to DSPs ourselves, and we don't collect royalties on your behalf.

What we don't do

We don't give legal, tax, or financial advice. Split sheets and rights PDFs are templates you and your collaborators sign, not legal contracts we've drafted for your situation. If a deal is complex, talk to a lawyer.

Paying

Paid plans renew automatically at the interval you chose (monthly or yearly). You can cancel any time from Billing, and your paid access continues until the end of the current period. We don't offer refunds for partial periods, but tell us if something's genuinely wrong and we'll sort it.

Fair use

Don't upload music you don't have rights to. Don't use the app to harass collaborators or spam anyone. Don't try to break, reverse-engineer, or overload the service. We can suspend accounts that do.

Availability

We aim for high uptime but we can't promise perfect. If the service is down, we'll fix it as fast as we can. We're not liable for lost revenue if a release day goes wrong because a DSP, PRO, or the internet had a bad day.

Cancelling and deleting

You can delete your account any time from Settings → Account. Deletion is permanent and removes your releases, splits, integrations, and profile. We keep minimal billing records for tax compliance.

Changes to these terms

If we make material changes we'll email you and update the date above. Continued use after changes means you accept them.

Legal bits

These terms are governed by the laws of Ireland. Disputes go to the courts of Ireland. If any part of these terms is unenforceable, the rest still applies. Our liability is capped at what you paid us in the last 12 months.
