What everyone is signing
These terms print on the PDF above the signature lines.
1. Agreement
The undersigned agree that the percentages set out in this split sheet are the full, true and complete division of ownership in the work identified above, and of the income it earns, for each category listed. Each category totals 100% on its own.
2. Songwriting and publishing
The Songwriting shares describe each writer's ownership of the musical composition (music and lyrics). The Publishing shares describe who owns or administers each writer's publishing interest. Where a writer is self-published, they hold their own publishing share.
3. Master recording
If a Master recording section is included, it describes ownership of the sound recording. If it is not included, this split sheet makes no statement about the master recording.
4. Originality
Each party confirms that their contribution is original, does not knowingly infringe anyone else's rights, and that they are free to sign this split sheet.
5. Registration
Each party may register their own share with their performing rights organisation (for example ASCAP, BMI, PRS, BUMA/STEMRA, SOCAN, APRA, SACEM), mechanical rights bodies (for example the MLC) and distributors, using the percentages above. No party may register a share that differs from this sheet without written consent of all parties.
6. Changes
This split sheet can only be changed by a new written split sheet signed by every party. Electronic signatures and signed copies count as originals.
7. Not a full contract
This is a memorandum of agreed splits. It does not transfer copyright to any other party, grant a licence, or set advances, fees or royalty rates. Parties are encouraged to seek independent legal advice.
